June 9, 2009 - Vancouver - Golden Peaks Resources Ltd. (TSX: GL) (the "Company") is pleased to report the Company is in receipt of a environmental baseline report which shows the ongoing development of the La Fortuna gold district continues to be in compliance with its environmental impact report and provincial environmental regulations.

The Company has maintained a four season baseline monitoring program. This program was expanded to monthly water sampling with analysis for 52 items including 32 chemical elements.
The various hydrologic basins in the district were established and sample monitoring points were identified. External sampling points were also established for greater security.

This report is an important step in the development of the La Fortuna gold district as it demonstrates there is no negative environmental impact on the hydrologic basins in which exploration is being conducted.
