The Company's flagship La Fortuna Gold Project, located in the district of Patagonia, remains a top priority focus for the Company. Located in the same region as the nearby Esquel & Navidad deposits, the La Fortuna Gold Project exhibits distinct geological characteristics evidencing its potential to be the region's next major gold discovery.

Project History

The Company negotiated an option to earn a 100% interest in the property in December 2003. Throughout 2004 and the first half of 2005, the Company, through its surface exploration programs, identified gold mineralization associated with five principal mineralized structures - the A, CR, CB, E and ML. The aggregate length of all the structures is approximately 15 kilometers.

The Company commenced its diamond drilling program in the second half of 2005 and the T-11 discovery was announced in January 2006. The ongoing surface exploration and diamond drilling program on La Fortuna has consistently produced highly favorable results while identifying 15 high priority zones of gold mineralization on the project.

Current exploration and drilling

The objective of the Company's ongoing drilling program is to confirm lateral and depth extents to the zones of surface mineralization. The structures which host the various gold zones, total in aggregate, a lineal distance of approximately 15 kilometers. All but the ML zone have been reconnaissance drilled and gold mineralization has been interested in all zones. Over 150 holes have been drilled on the project to date. Currently there are two drill rigs operating. Since January 2007, 50 holes have been drilled to delineate the original T-11 discovery and the NX extension.

A Structure
  • Approximately 5 km long.
  • A 1.0 km long zone of coincident chargeability and resistivity at the northwest end encompasses a number of gold bearing silicified zones and structures.
  • Mineralization ranges from strong silicification in the northwest through quartz veins/breccia in the central sector to high-level clay alteration with anomalous gold at the southeast end.
CR Structure
  • Approximately 2.7 km long.
  • A 1.3 km long zone of chargeability and resistivity anomalies at the south end encompasses zones of surface gold mineralization.
CB Structure
  • Approximately 1.2 km long.
  • Old mine workings in the central part of the structure.
  • A 600-meter long zone of chargeability and resistivity anomalies encompass the old workings.
Summary

The multiple zones of gold mineralization on the A Structure, the CR Structure and the E Structure, found by prospecting and confirmed by reconnaissance diamond drilling, indicate the potential for the discovery of a large gold deposits (s).

The drilling program has been expanded to complete delineation drilling of the T-11 and other zones, and to conduct initial testing of the CB and ML structures.

The Company's goal is to define a substantial gold resource through diamond drilling of all targets.
